The symposium on Emerging Viral Infections is jointly organized by the Centre for Dengue Research, University of Sri Jayewardenepura and the Victoria Infectious Diseases Reference Laboratory of Melbourne, Australia.

Sri Lanka and many countries in the South Asian and South East Asian region have been severely affected by many viruses such as dengue, chickungunya, Japanese Encephalitis and are at risk of having outbreaks due to viral infections such as Nipah and Zika. The aim of this conference is to bring together global experts who actively carry out research in the field of emerging viral infections to find out long lasting solutions to these infections.
